Pine & Petal Design is a boutique web design and AI solutions studio based in Lansing, Michigan. We're a husband-and-wife team — which means you get two specialists working on your project, not a junior handed off by a salesperson.
The engineer
Fullstack engineer with deep experience in React, Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript. Spent years in residential remodeling before pivoting fully into software — which means he understands what it's like to run a trade business, not just build websites for them.
He leads every custom development project and all AI work: chatbots, RAG pipelines, workflow agents, and integrations. He doesn't hand things off to a contractor.
The communicator
Communications background with deep CMS experience — including Sitecore, Squarespace, and Shopify. She's the one who makes sure clients feel heard, timelines stay on track, and the final product actually looks the way it was imagined.
She leads every Squarespace and Shopify build and manages client relationships across all projects. When you email Pine & Petal, you're probably talking to her first.
We started this because we lived it
Before Pine & Petal Design, we spent years in the trades. We watched hardworking business owners — contractors, remodelers, specialty trades — struggle with websites that didn't reflect how good they actually were at their work. Generic templates. Outdated content. No way to capture leads after hours.
We started this studio because we know what those businesses need — and we know how to build it. Not just a pretty site, but a digital presence that actually works: generates leads, answers questions, and makes a first impression that matches the quality of the work.
